We previously mentioned the 87th edition of the Monte-Carlo Rally, which is rapidly followed by its historic version. The Historic Monte-Carlo Rally 2019 will take place January 30 - February 6 for the 22nd edition of this legendary race.
This 2019 edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally distinguishes itself by the diversity of its route, and with the return of two starting cities, Milan and Athens.
The Historic Monte-Carlo Rally is a very selective race, reserved only to cars that have participated in the Monte-Carlo Rally between 1955 and 1980. Its 22nd edition will start on Wednesday January 30, 2019 with drivers leaving from Athens and Glasgow, followed by competitors leaving from Bad Homburg, Milan, Barcelona, Reims and Monte-Carlo on Friday February 1. All drivers will compete to reach one destination, Buis-les-Baronnies, in the French department of La Drôme, by Saturday February 2.
On Sunday February 3, the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally will move to the French department of Ardèche for the Classification Leg with a pit stop dedicated to the tasting of regional products, what a delicious treat!
Then back on the road and towards the mountains of Vercors on Monday February 4, to then head back to the Principality of Monaco on Tuesday February 5.
The Final Leg of this 22nd Historic Monte-Carlo Rally is planned for the night of Tuesday 5 to Wednesday February 6 with an estimated arrival on the Port Hercules around 1am.
Staying faithful to traditions, the Gala and Prize Giving Ceremony will take place on the evening of Wednesday February 6 in the Salle des Etoiles of the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club. We will then know who is to succeed to Gianmaria Aghem and Diego Cumino, winners of the 2018 Historic Monte-Carlo Rally with their Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1200.
Welcome to Monaco!
